ELLERY Fall 2013.

E L L E R Y Fall 2013.

Inspired by a Vincent Gallo film, Buffalo 66.

Kym Ellery's collections are always exciting because she experiments with fabrics and textures every season.
In the latest collection she introduced a new element, which was a floral print, taken from a 'Dutch Old Master' still life.
Textural materials, such as croc-embossed calf leather and raw edged tweed were used aswell as lace covered in rubber and bonding.

She is so innovative and creative that I would just love to live inside her brain for atleast one day.
I've already made a mental note of what pieces I would like hanging in my wardrobe.

The L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival was held this week at Central Pier, Docklands.
It's Australia's largest consumer fashion event - which continues to inspire and connect designers, consumers and retailers who keep Australian fashion alive.

The very first show of the festival was for David Jones, which featured top Australian designers including,
Dion Lee, Lisa Ho, Collette Dinnigan, Ellery, Rachel Gilbert, Camilla and Marc, Romance Was Born, Lover, Bassike,
Gary Bigeni, Josh Goot, Ginger & Smart, Scanlan & Theodore, Carol Kapp, Willow, Calibre
and the special guest and award winning designer from London, Mary Katrantzou who opened the show.

I was lucky enough to work backstage dressing the models during the show.
I had the absolute pleasure of dressing Olivia Thornton who just returned from Paris, and I also helped LJ Breton
who shared a rack - two of the most sweetest and funniest girls.
I thought I would share a little sneak peek of what goes on at the "Back of House", so you can see the racks upon racks of the latest fashion,
model line-ups, hair and make-up, even models acting like normal human beings pulling faces for the photographers.
I'd thought I'd leave all of the glamourous things like steaming the garments and taping the bottoms of heels out,
because really, who wants to see that!

Head to David Jones to check out the latest looks from your favourite designers from the show.

SUPER GLUE Store Opening.

On Wednesday night I was fortunate enough to be invited along to the SUPER GLUE Store Media Preview.
I was able to get an exclusive sneak peek at the store before the official launch on Thursday 14th March at Highpoint.

"SUPER GLUE is a unique concept space and is the one stop destination for denim, footwear and basics..."

SUPER GLUE is all about offering it's customers a unique experience.
It's a store that focus's on head to toe looks rather than trends, combining current Glue Store brands with leading edge and boutique labels
to supply a great selection of denim, footwear and basics to it's customers.

The store really is the 1st of it's kind, boasting so many new and exciting concepts,
including a coffee bar, music station and magazine stand and it's very own inbuilt tailored atelier.
There has also been a huge list of brands added, including the very exciting welcoming of UK retailer Miss Selfridge
aswell as Bec & Bridge, Shakuhachi, Antipodium, Current Elliot, Jac & Jack, Kahlo, Lonely Hearts, Denham Womens (from Amsterdam),
Paige Denim and Scotch & Soda.

You can literally find anything you need in the one store, as there is something for everyone and every taste.
From the gigantic denim wall (in both the men's and women's section), to the huge selection of shoes from brands such as Jeffery Campbell, Senso and Nike,
to the 'chill out' spots where you can engage in the latest magazines, or listen to some tunes at the music station
or sit and have a nice cup of coffee - all while browsing the one store.

I'm sure it will have you all going back for more, as I'm already planning my next stop in.
A big thank you to Torstar and SUPER GLUE for having me!
x.
