E L L E R Y A/W Campaign.

"SWISH"

Take a peek behind the scenes of the latest ELLERY campaign shoot
modelled by the gorgeous Julia Nobis, styled by Kym herself and photographed by Holly Blake.

The A/W '13 collection titled 'Swish' has been personally described by Kym as "a Venice Beach basketball moment".
I can see a slight influence from her previous collection 'Delicatessen',
which was inspired by a childhood mistake of giving away her beloved teddy bear.
The cuddly, over-sized , woolen texture of the jumper in the shoot is just that of a big snuggly teddy bear.

I'm always flawed by Kym and her ability to transform her ideas and inspirations into her new collections
and designing them with such creativity that every girl wants and every girl would wear in a heart beat.

Gimme those textured shorts STAT!

Stylekeepers.

t o d a y.
19.2.13.

1. Brand new 'Don't Hold Back' dress from Stylekeepers
2. LMFF program
3. New 'Japanese Cherry Blossom' perfume from The Body Shop to carry in my handbag.

Stylekeepers is a new online style platform and unique online store that has been created by bloggers, designers, stylists, models and photographers.
Their pieces are aimed at the girl that constantly has 'style' on their mind, who wants to be fashion-forward and remain ahead of the pack.
(I can definately relate to that, as I'm sure most of you can to!)
"We value uniqueness, quality and effortless style. Wear our pieces, your way."

Love hearts instantly burst out of my eyes once I spotted this dress online. I knew I had to have it!
The material is so soft and silky and the lace is my favourite, being so feminine and pretty.
I can't wait to wear you!

Millie Mac | Fur Style Diary.

You may already know her from reality TV show 'Made In Chelsea', but for those of you who are now
only being introduced, Millie is a London-based "make-up artist, beauty fanatic and fashion junkie".

I have admired her perfectly styled, super classy, head to toe chic looks since season 1, episode 1 of Made In Chelsea.
Her fur collection being the main focus all the way through, and now, more so than ever.
Her wardrobe has certainly evolved over the past few seasons; experimenting with different trends and pieces,
but she always seems to pull everything off so flawlessly.

Millie on her style right now...
"It's a bit of a mix. One day can be completely different to the next. I dress according to how I feel.
I think in the last year it's gotten a little harder rather than really girly. It's probably a bit grungier because I've been hanging out at festivals and stuff.
I always like to have a slight boho feel aswell - lots of floppy hats and gillets and tassels. I love tassels."

Oh, and she totally loves Aussie style and fashion.

Take a peek at Millie's 'Style Diary' and watch her make up tutorials for some extra tips.

Interview: VERA XANE.

Alex Smyth-Kirk is the brain behind Australia's hottest new jewellery label VERA XANE.
After 3 out of 4 years studying a Bachelor of Design and Textiles at the University of Textiles Sydney,
Alex decided that jewellery was more her calling and put down the needle and thread.
You could say that the transition was somewhat seamless and relatively expected, having trained as a silver and goldsmith
during her final years at high school, under the guidance of a master jeweller and later on working part-time
designing in-house pieces for an Australian fine jewellery brand.
Each piece is individually hand-made with the utmost care, guaranteeing that no two piece will ever be the same.

The latest collection titled, 'Dichotomies' gathers inspiration from the women in some of Alex's favourite songs.
There was nothing specifically visual that she worked off,
just a picture in her mind of what she would imagine these women wearing if they were here today.
"'Dichotomies' is about the idea that we all embody an inhibited spirit, but modern practicality tends to prevail.
So this collection is a reflection of those two ideas coming together - the wild and the wearable"

I was lucky enough to ask Alex a few questions about Vera Xane...

1. What inspired your love for designing jewellery?
I have always loved jewellery. I grew up sewing my own clothes and pillows from a very young age as both my grandmothers
on either side were actually seamstresses! That fairly naturally progressed into me making my own jewellery by hand,
and as I got older that passion never really went away.

2. Where do you go to for inspiration?
Anywhere and everywhere. I scour magazines constantly, both new and old. I have archival Vogue's from the 80's and 90's that are delightful!
I also find that I look to architecture and the built environment all the time, aswell as vintage design references.
I'm usually most inspired however, when I travel.

3. What's your favourite piece to wear from your own collection?
Day to day I can't go past the small cage bangle. It is great for stacking but also enough of a statement to wear on it's own.
My absolute favourite piece however, is the cage neckpiece. Up until production there have only been two samples of the neckpiece in the world.
This means that I don't have one from myself and it's killing me!

4. What do you see for Vera Xane in the future?
I'd definately like to expand the label both in product range and also in terms of moving offshore.
I'm investigating new accessories all the time and textiles are definately an area I'm interested in.

Pieces will be available to purchase via the online store soon.

IRO S/S '13.

IRO spring/summer '13.

I'm utterly smitten with this entire collection - every piece, from head to toe.
The second I spotted it on Fashion Me Now, I knew I would be going through all of the images to pick my absolute favourites... And here they are.

- The all-white combo's are unreal. The detail and the cut-outs in each piece are perfection and all work so well together.
- The prints and the jackets,  my gosh the jackets! The tribal print one in white is to die for and the grey  one above. W A N T !
- The teaming of the leather bomber jacket with the animal print skirt is so chic.
- That white dress is the first shot - such a statement piece that I'm sure every girl has their eye on now.

P E R F E C T I O N

I will be dreaming of these pieces appearing in my wardrobe every night when I go to sleep.
